Do you know how the color of red grape juice is measured?

Wednesday, 9 February 2022 /

Depending on the variety of grape used and the production process, the red juice may have richer or lesser color intensity, a feature that is highly demanded by our customers to sweeten and color naturally.

Correct measurement is important to know what type of grape juice we can obtain.

The most widespread measurement system is UV-visible spectrophotometry.

It is carried out using 1mm cuvettes and measuring the absorbance at 420nm and 520nm. This way, the chromatic intensities of the grape juices are defined.

At JULIAN SOLER we use this technology to analyze and select the red grape juices that meet the criteria of our customers. We use local grape varieties with high color intensity such as Bobal or Garnacha Tintorera, which allows us to export highly colored red grape juice to the whole world.

High-color red grape juice is highly demanded by companies that seek trust and 100% authentic grapes in order to sweeten and color naturally. That’s why many food and beverage companies from each of the 5 continents are already familiar with our unique #NothingButGrapes process.
