1-In a few words, who is Consuelo Soler, how do you define yourself?
I consider myself a hard worker, optimistic and always ready to teach and help people around me who need me.
2-How long have you been working at Julián Soler and what are your duties?
I started working in the company in 1985, when the company’s premises were still located in the town, and I have been working in the company for almost 38 years now. I started as an administrative assistant, when there were no computers in the company. Today, I am the financial manager.
3- What do you like most about working in the family business?
What I like most is having the opportunity to work for my own family and, at the same time, that this work helps the company to progress and create jobs that contribute to the wellbeing of the residents of my town, Quintanar del Rey.
4- How have you seen the evolution of the company since its beginnings?
Although the beginnings in the 70s were very hard, year after year the company has been improving, growing and innovating. What began with two brothers and a few workers who formed a small family, has become a large family made up of the current staff of more than 80 people.
Today we export our white and red grape juice concentrates to more than 48 countries on 5 continents, all year round.
5- What are the most important values in Julián Soler?
Honesty, seriousness, trustworthiness and a deep empathy with the company’s employees, so that they feel as comfortable as possible working for a company that will always have them as one of its priorities, striving to improve their labour rights and always maintaining a close and humane relationship with them.
6- Tell us an amusing anecdote related to work.
After years, there are many, but in special memory with a great sympathy the years in which due to the excess of work at the time of vendimia gave a snack to workers, and a late Ana and Oscar put on a costume of Little Red Riding Hood carrying some baskets full of these sandwiches, touring the company to distribute them.
7- If you had a time machine, what era would you go to and why?
I would like a time machine, but not to go back to another era, but to be able to take a few years off Julián Soler Marqués, so that I can continue to enjoy his presence and his good work. Besides, I know what the company means to him, and I am convinced that he would enjoy the good situation in which the company finds itself today.
8- Is there a person you admire, a point of reference?
JULIÁN SOLER MARQUÉS, my uncle. I consider him to be a self-made person, and both on a human and professional level, he is an example to follow for anyone who values honesty, seriousness, honesty and love for others as fundamental principles in the way he acts.
