    FAQs

NFC is an abbreviation for Not From Concentrate. This indicates that the juice is produced by extracting the juice directly from the fruit and sterilizing it without the need for a reduction or concentration process in its production chain.

They are juices that do not come from concentrates, but directly from the fruit. In our case, NFC grape juice is >= 16º Brix and retains all the organoleptic properties of the grape i.e., natural fruit sugars, acids and polyphenols.

NFC juice is the perfect choice for many consumers in the industrial juice sector, as it is as close as possible to freshly squeezed juice. They are sulphite-free juices suitable for baby food and are free of pesticides and allergens.

Julián Soler offers 2 varieties of NFC grape juice:
    • NFC white grape juice: obtained from white grape variety Airén.
    • NFC red grape juice: obtained from red grape variety Bobal.

This juice can be exported in different formats, according to the customer's needs, to ensure safety and healthy performance and benefits during its use.

Generally speaking, the shelf life of NFC juices at low temperatures of 0 to 4ºC is usually around one month, but this depends largely on the quality of the raw materials, processing technology and packaging.

NFC juice takes as raw material the juices of freshly squeezed fruit, in our case grapes of two different varieties: the red grape Bobal and the white grape Airén, varieties native to the vineyards of Castilla-La-Mancha, the largest wine region in the world.

From here, it is time to desulfurize the composition to obtain a grape juice concentrate completely free of sulphites, pesticides and allergens.

One of the most interesting aspects at Julián Soler is the Nothing But Grapes process, a unique process with a rigorous quality control in our own laboratory. Thanks to the technology we have, we can analyse key parameters to make sure it is grapes and nothing else, and help us to innovate and improve every day.

At Julián Soler we have refrigerated and frozen facilities to supply concentrated grape juice all year round. To guarantee this process, our microbiology laboratory obtained the highest score in a comparative organised by SGF International.

One of the main characteristics of NFC juices is that they are not processed, so the original quality and taste is preserved. Grape juice is usually transported in bulk, in tanks of up to 25 000 kg, which makes it safe for people to consume.

When NFC juice is produced, maximum use is made of the fruit when it is squeezed and, in many cases, the product is made from the pulp of the fruit itself.

Due to the manufacturing process of NFC juice, the final taste of the product is very close to the original taste of the fruit. They are fresh, fruity, aromatic juices, often with an intense colour.

The nutritional value of NFC juice is the same as that of the fruit pieces themselves. They contain many of the nutrients that our body needs to function properly, so there is no need to add them later. This is possible because the processing stage is shorter than that of concentrated juices, which means they can be preserved better.

NFC juices respond to current consumer trends: functionality, health and pleasure. They are ideal for consumers looking for a healthy treat, offering them the opportunity to enjoy natural products in total convenience. NFC juices also meet the needs of users who are looking for healthy drinks and thus avoid soft drinks or carbonated beverages.

This is another very important quality for us and our commitment. They are considered a product that promotes the growth of the local economy because they are made with fruits that are indigenous to the area, such as our grapes from La Manchuela. This trend is on the increase due to the growing awareness of the public to consume natural and healthy foodstuffs.

Beyond taking a piece of fruit and squeezing it at home, there are different ways of drinking juices. We are talking about packaged juices, which allow a quick and easy consumption of a good number of nutrients. But it is important to know the difference between NFC juices and other fruit-based drinks, such as some nectars and juices sold in supermarkets.

    • NFC juices: As explained above, NFC juices do not come from concentrate but from the squeezed fruit itself, so it is the closest juice to the original piece of fruit.
    • Nectars: These are prepared with between 25% and 45% fruit concentrate, to which water is added and, in many cases, glucose or sucrose syrup to improve the taste. In addition, if they contain added sugars, they can contain up to 20% non-fruit sugar.

NFC juice packs contain information on how and for how long they are suitable for drinking, but also on the ingredients. These should only include freshly squeezed juices, so no terms such as juice concentrates, water, preservatives, colourings or other additives should appear.

As before, it is important to know the difference between NFC and FC juices:

    • NFC juices: As we have explained before, NFC juices do not come from concentrates but from the squeezed fruit itself, so it is the closest juice to the original piece of fruit.
    • FC (From Concentrate) juices: Juices prepared from concentrate have a longer production process, as the original fruit juice is subjected to a vacuum to evaporate the water. Water is then added, along with any vitamins and minerals that may have been lost in the chain, as well as various sugars and flavourings.

NFC juice packs contain information on how and for how long they are suitable for drinking, but also on the ingredients. These should only include freshly squeezed juices, so no terms such as juice concentrates, water, preservatives, colourings or other additives should appear.

The process we carry out at Julián Soler consists of different phases that allow NFC grape juice to reach our customers and end consumers with the highest quality. The first step is to have a first-class raw material, for which we analyse and classify each of the grapes we harvest.

Thanks to these studies, we are able to guarantee complete traceability of our products, which allows us to know the origin of each of the batches we produce. Once the grape juice extraction process has been carried out, it is time to package it.

We do this using IBC containers, standard drums or aseptic drums, which guarantee the safety and preservation of the grape's properties. We also offer the possibility of shipping grape juice in bulk or storing it refrigerated and/or frozen in drums until the moment of shipment, depending on our client's needs.

When it comes to transport, NFC grape juice can travel by air, land or sea, thanks to the aforementioned packaging. In this way, we have managed to export our products to more than 48 countries on 5 continents.
